Why there are no weeks on it
Almost every puppy resource you will find is built on a calendar. Week four, do this. By eight weeks, expect that. It sounds reassuring until your puppy does not match it — and then a calendar stops being a plan and starts being a verdict.
Puppies don't develop evenly. Yours might be reliable on the lead and still having accidents indoors. They might sleep through the night from day one and fall apart at the sight of a scooter. That's not a puppy who is behind. That's what normal looks like, and it is almost never described honestly.
So the chart has stages, not weeks. Each row moves at its own pace. Ticking Stage 4 in one row and Stage 1 in another is not a gap to close — it is just an accurate picture of your dog. And because there are no ages on it, there is no such thing as starting too late. Print it at six months and tick what is already true.
